Papers of John Avery Lomax (1867-1948) and family members. Lomax was a collector of North American folk songs, publishing collections of folk songs and serving as curator, Archive of American Folksong, Library of Congress. He also served the University of Texas as secretary to the president and to alumni organizations until 1917. The collection includes song lyrics, music, sound recordings, literary productions, diaries, and scrapbooks.
