The José Antonio Menchaca Reminiscences, 1807-1836, contains six volumes of Menchaca’s unpublished memoirs. These volumes relate to Menchaca's experiences as a soldier during the Battle of San Antonio and during the development of San Antonio. The memoirs concern military, political, and social affairs in Texas.

The Nacogdoches, Texas, Committee of Vigilance and Safety was established in 1835 as a means to organize and collect arms and provisions to be used in the Texas Revolution. Transcripts of original letters, reports, resolutions, accounts, bills, and receipts, in one volume, comprise the records.
Philosophical Society of Texas records
The Philosophical Society of Texas was founded on December 5, 1837, in the capitol of the Republic of Texas, Houston, and was revived in 1935 in Dallas. By the 1990s the society had moved to Austin. Records of the society include administrative records of the organization, relating to the history, founding, revival, and purposes of the society, as well as to its day-to-day functioning and administration.
William S. Pierson collection
William Seward Pierson, Jr. (1815-1879) was an attorney and financier. The collection includes correspondence, legal papers, financial papers, printed materials, land documents, broadsides, newspapers, and maps relating to Pierson's business dealings and partnerships; Pierson's dealings in railroads; his assignment during the Civil War; and Texas legislative documents and maps.
