Typed excerpts of publications and manuscripts compose the C. L. Greenwood Collection, 1835-1884, documenting Greenwood's research on conflicts between Texas settlers and Native Americans in the 19th century. Arranged chronologically, the passages from Texas newspapers, books, and archival collections primarily discuss relations between settlers and Native Americans in central Texas and the military activities of both sides, with special emphasis on the Texas Rangers.

Archivist's note: Additionally, the collection includes the C. L. Greenwood Index, located in the Briscoe Center's Reading Room, which cites biographical sketches from numerous books as well as Texas newspaper marriage notices and obituaries from 1850 to 1900.
