Peter Simon was a photographer, photojournalist, and music historian. Photographs in this collection include events and celebrities from the 1960s to the 1990s, including politicians, protestors, musicians, and baseball player Jackie Robinson.
Howard Sochurek (1924-1994) was an American photojournalist known best for his overseas assignments and early adoption and development of digital photography. Ranging in date from circa 1943 to 1988, the archive features a variety of subjects, including the Korean War, India’s post-colonial growth, Indochina and the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, life in the then-Soviet Union, the Vietnam War, and aerospace.
Materials pertain to the activities, including protests and meetings, of the University of Texas SDS and associated student organizations.
